Project Overview

The original Stockton Metropolitan Airport was built in the 1960’s.  In order to accommodate post 9/11 FAA security requirements and a growing number of travelers, LDA was hired to design a new 367 passenger hold room, security area, restrooms, concession services and to address other security upgrades throughout the facility.  This project included a 7,500 SF addition and remodel of the existing 1,000 SF space.
The project was complex.  There were multiple stakeholders: airport management, FAA, TSA, City, Homeland Security, and separate fire jurisdictions.  LDA not only was able to successfully lead the complex stakeholder group to consensus, but expedited the project, thus facilitating funding for the project.  The airport has realized a significant rise in revenue through additional passengers being served and flights being accommodated.
