Wine and Roses Registration Building

Project overview

A very simple, yet elegant project, the new registration lobby at Wine & Roses County Inn, consists of 1,118 sf. Yet within the small footprint, the project helps create a portal into the overall campus of the boutique hotel.  Inside a modern yet chic, farmhouse theme matches the existing hotel interior.  Outside, the stone and a smooth stucco finish create a warm and inviting entry to the hotel complex

Scotto Family Tasting Room

Project overview

The Scotto Family, a long time regional wine maker, chose to bring their wine and cider products to the public in an upscale downtown Lodi gathering location. The site, a neglected structure on Lodi’s popular School Street, was restored.  The existing brick walls were exposed within the interior space.  The street façade was re-purposed to include a new canopy and signage, and a fully expanding glass “lanai” wall, fully inviting the passerby to participate the sounds of the interior action. The family’s desire to create not only a venue for their generational wines and cider, but also an active gathering spot in Lodi’s resurgent downtown, has been a huge success.

Wine & Roses Barrel Room Event Center

Project Overview

As a subsequent phase of development of LDA’s design for the Wine & Roses Inn and Spa, the Barrel Room event center is a true multi-function facility.  The 15,000 SF venue includes a large meeting room, bar area, and full commercial kitchen.  It was designed to accommodate different events including weddings, fundraisers, business functions, and community events.

European wine region architecture was the inspiration for the Barrel Room Event Center design - hand troweled plaster walls, heavy timber exposed framing, and staved wood doors reinforce this architectural theme. The primary public spaces within the facility feature exposed timber roof framing, plaster walls, and stained concrete flooring.

Stockton Golf & Country Club

Stockton Golf & Country Club: Project Overview

Originally built in 1914, the Stockton Golf and Country Club, has a longstanding community presence.  With its approaching 100 year anniversary and expanded club membership, the original building had outlived its useful life.  LDA Partners was called in to tackle the design of a new clubhouse facility.

Presented with the challenge of keeping the existing club open while the new clubhouse was being built, LDA repositioned and reoriented the club to face the Stockton Deep Water Channel.  Elevating the new clubhouse site in order to provide wide sweeping waterfront and golf course views, LDA took advantage of the existing topography and blended the design of the new facility with the golf course.  While the existing swimming pool was renovated in its original location the new clubhouse design maximized parking once the existing clubhouse was demolished.  The new facility includes 43,000 SF of banquet facilities and event space, member dining facilities, pro shop, fitness center, cart storage, and locker rooms.

Wine & Roses Spa

Project overview

Working with the ownership of the Wine & Roses Inn & Spa to create and implement a 10 year master plan for the development of this destination resort was LDA’s assignment.  Starting with an existing Bed and Breakfast Inn, LDA planned and designed a resort complex that now includes: a hotel, event space, spa, and residential component, the Lodi Wine and Visitor’s Center, and a restaurant – now totaling 20 buildings on a 7-acre site.  The resort is fashioned after the world renowned Silverado Resort & Spa in Napa and the Bernardus Lodge and Spa in Carmel Valley, but features a Mediterranean design style.  This iconic facility is a regional destination within the Lodi Wine appellation and has been featured in many national publications including Sunset magazine.

Country Joe Coffee House

Project Overview

Designing Country Joe’s, a drive-thru coffee and specialty dessert shop, presented several design challenges.  The client wanted two directional drive-thru approaches on a compact site and required visibility from both traffic directions on the adjacent highway.

After conducting a comprehensive vehicular movement study, LDA designed a 1,000 SF “barn-like” form featuring a high chroma color palette of red, blue, and yellow – tying into the rural landscape.  The building is highly sustainable, with metal siding/roofing, a high efficient mechanical system and a wind power subsidy from the on-site windmill.

Our design solution created ‘landmark’ destination.
