Baun Student Fitness Center

LDA Partner’s 10,000 square-foot addition to an existing student fitness center, and its corresponding space plan, enabled the University to deliver more program activities on a per-square-foot basis than with the previous structure. A focal point of the Baun Student Fitness Center is a 36-foot-high climbing wall/tower. The facility also incorporates two multipurpose exercise rooms, two racquetball courts, and weight-training and cardiovascular equipment areas, as well as locker, restroom, and shower facilities.

In designing the addition, LDA Partners took great care to ensure that the new facility fit in seamlessly with its surroundings and with the traditional architectural style of the college campus.

This project earned an Award for Excellence in Design from the American Institute of Architects and an Award of Excellence from the City of Stockton.
